Educational Displays at the LaPierre Lane Riverway

Playground at LaPierre Lane Riverway (Morrisonville, NY)

Project Description

The LaPierre Lane Riverway was the first completed trail of the Saranac River Trail Greenway. Located at the end of LaPierre Lane in Morrisonville, NY, the park includes a 1/4 mile hiking trail suitable for all ages and abilities, a youth adventure area with locally crafted and nature-inspired playground equipment, fitness-for-life exercise equipment, a meditation garden and canoe launch on the banks of the Saranac River, and a boardwalk through a forested riparian wetland supporting a wealth of local biodiversity. Since 2017, Dr. Alldred and her students have collaborated with the Town of Plattsburgh to provide educational signage for this park. Signs are updated periodically. Stop by today to learn something new about wetlands!
